Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Music AI Studio Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares information when you use the Stem Split app for iPhone and iPad (the "App"), our website at musicaistudio.app, and any purchases you make through our website (together, the "Service").
We are the data controller for personal data processed through the Service. If you have any questions, email us at info@musicaistudio.app.
1. Information we collect
Content you give us
- Audio and video you import or record, such as songs from your files or library, the sound from videos you choose, audio from links you paste, and recordings you make in the App.
- Results we generate from it: separated stems, and song analysis such as tempo, key, beats, chords and lyrics.
Account information
- When you open the App we create an anonymous user ID so your library and purchases work without an account.
- If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the details that provider shares with us, such as your name and email address (Sign in with Apple lets you hide your email).
Purchase information
- In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We receive details of the purchase (such as the product, price, dates and subscription status) but never your card details.
- If you buy on our website, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your email address, the product and payment status. Stripe handles your card details.
Usage, device and diagnostic information
- How you use the App, such as the screens you view, the features you use and in-app events.
- Device and app information, such as device model, operating system, language, country, app version and device identifiers (including the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking; see section 6).
- Crash reports and performance data.
- Recordings of App sessions (the screens you see and how you tap and scroll), which we use to find and fix usability problems.
Support conversations
- If you contact us by email or through in-app support, we keep your messages and any contact details you give us.
2. Your audio
To separate a song, the App uploads it to our servers, which process it and return the results to your device. We use your audio and the results only to provide the Service to you, including keeping your library available, and to diagnose problems with it. We do not sell your audio, share it with other users, or claim any ownership of it.
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use any audio you upload. See our Terms of Use.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: separating audio, analysing songs, storing your library and delivering exports.
- To manage your account, subscriptions and purchases, and to restore purchases on your devices.
- To provide customer support and answer your requests.
- To understand how the App is used, fix bugs and crashes, and improve features and performance.
- To measure the effectiveness of our marketing, where you have allowed it.
- To send you service messages, and marketing messages where you have agreed to them. You can opt out at any time.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, keep the Service secure, and comply with the law.
4. Legal bases (UK and EU users)
We rely on the following legal bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR:
- Contract: to provide the Service you asked for, including processing your audio and managing purchases.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the Service secure, fix problems, understand usage and improve the App, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: for tracking across other companies' apps and websites, and for marketing messages. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: to keep records we are required to keep, such as tax records.
5. Service providers we share information with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with providers that help us run the Service, who may use it only to provide their services to us, and when the law requires it.
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|

| Apple | App Store payments and Sign in with Apple |
| RevenueCat | Managing in-app subscriptions and purchase status |
| Stripe | Payments made on our website |
| Web2Wave | Web sign-up and checkout pages |
| UXCam | App session recordings and usability analytics |
| HelpCrunch | In-app customer support chat |
| Meta (Facebook) | Measuring our advertising campaigns |
We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid request from a public authority, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Analytics, advertising and tracking
We use analytics to understand and improve the App. On iOS, we only use your device's advertising identifier, or share data with advertising partners to track you across other companies' apps and websites, if you allow it when the App asks. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Our website does not use advertising cookies.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United Kingdom, and some of our providers process data in other countries, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on adequacy decisions or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:
- Your audio, stems and library for as long as you use the Service, or until you delete them or your account.
- Account and purchase records for as long as your account exists, and afterwards for as long as the law requires (for example, for tax and accounting).
- Analytics, diagnostic and support data for as long as it is useful to improve the Service, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before; and
- if you are in California, know what we collect and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising without your permission.
You can delete your account from the Account screen in the App. For any other request, email info@musicaistudio.app. We will reply within one month. If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In the EU, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the App or by email before it takes effect.
